Innovation and Creativity

I am an engineering graduate of Southern Methodist University and am fortunate to be a member of the SMU Engineering Executive Board.

The SMU Engineering School is making great strides in becoming one of the premier engineering schools in the Country.

The recently established Hart Center for Engineering Leadership in SMU's Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering is dedicated to creating the 21st century engineer, one prepared to lead the way in restoring American competitiveness and meeting the toughest challenges facing society.

I have interacted with several of the SMU engineering students and am amazed with their creativity, presentation skills and intelligence!

I have recently been a judge in the SMU Innovation Competition. Students are asked to submit ideas for entirely new inventions and then to make a plan to develop and market these ideas. The quality of these ideas has blown me away!

With schools such as SMU turning out creative leaders , I believe America will continue to generate products and services that make the world a better place for all.
